What they wanted
To promote the content shared on the AOL homepage to a wider audience. Typically the AOL homepage audience likes TV and celebrity stories, as well as being interested in news. There is a strong correlation between what the AOL homepage audience likes and what kind of stories do well on Facebook.
What we did for them
After a bespoke, one-day training session with the topical team (who work on the homepage), we worked with the team to chose appropriate stories to share on the AOL Facebook page.
We also helped cross-promote the articles on Facebook from the homepage, to drive traffic.
The page has attracted almost 4,000 Likers in just six months, with more every day. The team uses the inbuilt Facebook analytics to see how well stories are doing, and to inform their decisions.
