I don’t get ‘got’

I know I’m not supposed to use ‘got’ because it’s not a very nice word. But sometimes it just fits.

When you’re trying to fit words into a limited character count, every small word comes into play.

What can we use instead of ‘got’? Have. Possess. Own. They’re not very funky though – you might want to say that ‘someone’s got soul’ which is much cooler than ‘someone owns soul’. Which doesn’t even make sense.

I can’t even remember why ‘got’ fell out of fashion. I might start using it again to prove my point. Cos you either got it, or you don’t got it. Get it?
